Event description

Description

You have heard about our rankings and we have told you about IE’s five schools of knowledge. Now, we invite you to get a glimpse of our teaching style for yourself, right on your doorstep.

Come and hear some great, relevant content from IE Pofessor; Evangelos Liaras. Join us and share your ideas, hear opinions from fellow applicants, students and IE alumni in Sofia on December 1st.

While London and Brussels are working on what will probably be a protracted divorce, conversations about Brexit have revolved around the fate of "stranded" citizens, the Northern Irish border and the UK's outstanding dues to the EU budget. Although all these concerns are very real and important, we also need to continue the larger conversation about what this means for the future of the European project, and particularly for the countries of Southeast Europe whose economies have grown accustomed to freedom of immigration to, as well as remittances, cohesion funds and loans coming from the wealthier European northwest. The cultural aspects of Brexit--particularly the ferocity with which pro-Brexit UK media portrayed Eastern European migrants--are no less imporant than the economic implications of a European Union without Albion. The speaker will argue that these cultural aspects lie at the heart of the current debates about the future of Europe.

The event agenda:

  • 18:30-18:50 Registration and welcome
  • 18:50-19:00 IE Presentation
  • 19:00-21:00 Master Class
  • 21:00-21:30 Networking Cocktai

The session will be followed with drinks and snack so discussions can continue with our professor, fellow attendees and some of our IE alumni in case you might want to hear about their personal IE expereince.
