The EU-funded project ONE-BLUE aims to assess the impact of Contaminants of Emerging Concern (CECs) and climate change on marine biodiversity and biota, through an extensive sampling and analysis campaign across the Mediterranean, Atlantic, and Arctic Oceans.
In the framework of the International Day against Climate Change (24 October), ONE-BLUE is organising the scientific webinar “Analysis of CECs in Environmental Matrices”, an online session that will bring together researchers, policymakers, and representatives from other EU-funded initiatives working on the detection, monitoring, and mitigation of emerging pollutants in aquatic ecosystems.
The event will include:
Presentations from ONE-BLUE partners, sharing their latest progress on marine field campaigns, analytical methods, and environmental risk assessment.
Contributions from other EU-funded projects such as CONTRAST, iMERMAID, LABPLAS and JOINABLE, presenting complementary approaches to pollution monitoring, microplastics management, and circular economy.
A final discussion panel addressing current challenges, data gaps, and opportunities for collaboration towards achieving the EU’s Zero Pollution ambition and improving water quality monitoring frameworks.
The webinar will feature the participation of researchers, institutional representatives, and project coordinators, fostering exchange and synergies among initiatives tackling marine contamination and environmental resilience in Europe.
