Cheap Cuts Documentary Film Festival is the only UK festival dedicated exclusively to short documentaries. Cheap Cuts showcases the best of British and international short documentary talent. We strongly believe in content over form and are interested in the stories you have to tell and not the equipment or budget used to do so.
This year's event is entirely online and you'll be able to access the films at any point during the festival period (29/06 - 05/07) Watch when it suits you!
Cheap Cuts is committed to helping promote equality within film and every year at least 50% of our programme is formed of short documentaries directed by women. Our programme offers a variety of filmmaking styles; including experimental, animation and observational documentary and there are some great appearances from films that really push the boundaries of documentary.
**Please be aware that due to geo-blocking restrictions required by some filmmakers/distributors, a few titles in our programme are only available to viewers in the UK. UK only films have been specified on the programme**

Take a sneak peek!
We know that you have spent a lot of time indoors watching online content over the past few months, but we are positive we have something a little different to offer you at Cheap Cuts 2020. Take a look at the programme here to get an idea of what's in store for our audience at this year's festival.
Your vote counts!
Don't forget to vote in the Audience Award. After each screening you can leave your scores for the films and any comments for the filmmakers.
Pay what you can!
We understand that the past few months may have been financially difficult and unstable for many. This year's festival pass is a donation based, pay what you can system. We are a not for profit platform and all money raised goes back into the festival to help cover the costs of running a film festival. For example: Vimeo costs, website hosting, promotion, designers, panelists and judges, volunteer expenses, online promotion, office costs.
We ask for you to pay what you can afford and have offered some guidelines here:
Minimum suggested donation - £5
As a non-profit festival, your donation helps cover the costs of hosting this year's edition. Full access pass to watch over 60 films, discussion panels, Q&As and live screenings.
Festival Supporter - £15 to £25
With your help, we can secure the festival's future! Social media shout outs and your name on our supporter's page on the website. Plus 20% discounts for all upcoming events in 2021 incl. Best of the Fest screenings, workshops, etc.

For those that are students, low-waged or unemployed you are welcome to donate what you can. If £5 is not financially possible for you at this time, we still welcome any donation and we are grateful for your support regardless .
