About this event
International Organizations with a focus on economics, and in particular the so-called International Financial Institutions (IFIs) offered a very attractive career path to those undertaking postgraduate degrees in economics. Well-known IOs like the OECD, the IMF, the World Bank, or the wide array of multilateral development banks seek young experts with a solid knowledge of economics and the ability to apply it to different fields and policy domains. This session will provide an opportunity to exchange views with Aida Caldera, Head of Division at the OECD Economics Department, Country Studies, and former Senior Advisor to the OECD Chief Economist. It will be moderated by Ángel Alonso Arroba, Vice Dean of the IE School of Global Affairs and himself former staff of the OECD, where he held senior management responsibilities and had to interact regularly with economists, without being trained as one himself. The OECD is one of the world´s leading institution shaping global policies and setting international standards, based on solid economic research and benchmarking.
If you are keen on pursuing a career focused on economics in an international organization and learning more about whether IE´s new Master in Applied Economics may be the right fit for you, you cannot miss this exciting event!
