In this international conference Prof. Fowler is going to discuss the nature of narcotics corruption in Central America.

Objetives

  • The conference examine the varieties of drug corruption and the difference between incremental and systematic corruption.
  • The objectives of drug-trafficking organizations, the characteristics and dynamics of the drug trade, and the particular roles played by the Central American bridge states in the movement of drugs from producers to consumers.
  • Also, In the conference is going to be discussed the law enforcement responses, policies and laws aimed at countering the drug trade. And in the finish up with thoughts on accountability and good government, and how these might relate to efforts to resist drug corruption.

Facilitator: Prof. Michael R. Fowler, J.D. Harvard University

Professor of Political Science at University of Louisville and a former practicing lawyer for the law firm in Boston with the largest practice in Asia. Professor Fowler is the author of Mastering Negotiation (Carolina Academic Press, 2017) one of the few negotiation texts that explores cross-cultural negotiation. A Two-time Fulbright scholar to Japan, Professor Fowler has taught negotiation to university students, diplomats, lawyers, military personnel, professors and business executives in a dozen countries, including China, Japan, Laos, Vietnam, Costa Rica and Panama.
