Event description

Description

You have heard about our rankings and we have told you about IE’s five schools of knowledge. Now, we invite you to get a glimpse of our teaching style for yourself, right on your doorstep.

Come and hear some great, relevant content from IE Pofessor; Evangelos Liaras. Join us and share your ideas, hear opinions from fellow applicants, students and IE alumni in Athens on November 29th.

Turkey is arguably the perennial preoccupation of Greek foreign policy; but as it is often the case in politics, we, citizens, tend to be absorbed by current affairs and hardly think about the larger, strategic picture. What assumptions and expectations shaped Greek foreign policy towards Turkey for the current generation of Greek policy makers? What does political science as a scholarly field think about those assumptions today? What predictions can we make about where Turkey and Greece are heading as societies over the next generation? As Greek citizens or residents, what longer-term outlook and policies should we ask our leaders to adopt regarding Cyprus, the Aegean disputes and Turkey's EU accession? The speaker will invite the audience to join this debate both in his professional capacity as a political scientist and his personal background as a Greek citizen who has lived and worked in Turkey.

The event agenda:

  • 18:30-18:50 Registration and welcome
  • 18:50-19:00 IE Presentation
  • 19:00-21:00 Master Class
  • 21:00-21:30 Networking Cocktail

The session will be followed with drinks and snack so discussions can continue with our professor, fellow attendees and some of our IE alumni in case you might want to hear about their personal IE expereince
