IED Muses - Season 2 Chapter 1

IED Muses - Season 2 Chapter 1

By IED Barcelona - Istituto Europeo di Design

Overview

Decoding inspirational minds with Quayola.

IED MUSES Talks is a series of enlightening sessions designed to provide artistic inspiration and knowledge for creatives. This initiative aims to gather ideas and facilitate the creative process by inviting distinguished individuals from various disciplines.

The first chapter of the second season of the series will take place on the 12th of November 2025 - 6:30 pm at IED Barcelona with Quayola.

The renowned artist Quayola has artistically intervened and exhibited in top landmarks of cultural heritage and prestigious world institutions such as the V&A Museum in London; Park Avenue Armory in New York; The National Art Center in Tokyo; UCCA in Beijing; How Art Museum in Shanghai; SeMA in Seoul; Palais de Tokyo in Paris; Ars Electronica in Linz; Casa Batlló in Barcelona; and the Sundance Film Festival.

He uses technology as a lens to explore the tensions and balances between seemingly opposite forces: the real and the artificial, the figurative and the abstract, the ancient and the new. Landscape painting, classical sculpture, and iconography are some of the historical aesthetics that serve as a starting point for his hybrid compositions.

Winner in 2013 of the Golden Nica at Ars Electronica.
