An introduction to the Art of Performance Storytelling.
About this event
We've been sharing stories for as long as we've been human.
Stories have both the power to unite, entertain and educate, and to divide and spread hate.
Performance storytelling is an exhilarating portal that honours this ancient art form in all its magnificence.

Inside everyone is a storyteller longing to engage, empower and entertain, and a listener longing to be engaged, empowered and entertained.
In this 3-hour workshop, we'll begin by introducing key storytelling techniques through playful practices, to warm up our minds and bodies.
We'll learn:
→ why storytelling is so fundamentally important;
→ what storytelling is, and how it translates into performance;
→ where and how to find stories that speak to us at our core;
→ how to lift stories off the page and personalise them;
→ how to reimagine and reignite old stories, to make them relevant;
→ how to shape and mould a story, ready for a performance;
→ key performance storytelling skills and secrets.
This workshop is for anyone who is interested in storytelling and how it weaves into our daily lives, but especially those who are intrigued by the performance aspect of it, for private, personal or professional use.
Lonan will guide you through storytellers' secrets in a fun, liberating and expressive way, with the aim of setting you up to share your own stories with character, compassion and confidence.
