Through interactive discussions, talks and practical exercises we will learn how education hackathons work, how to organise them, and what to expect from them.

The event will take place over two days - 28th and 29th October - from 1 PM CEST till 4 PM CEST approximately, on ZOOM.

Together, we will:

• get an overview of the most common education issues and decide which ones can be solved with a hackathon
• get some real practice with some online tools such as Mentimeter and Mural to understand what are the issues to be solved and what guidelines you may need to develop a hackathon yourself
• listen to experienced speakers who'll sharing their hackathon experiences
• and finally, on the second day, we will be able to take active part in a small-scale hackathon activity.

If you're an educator or somehow involved in education (e.g. a parent, a student, an artist, etc), join us! The more diverse the group is, the richer the discussions.

Our speakers

Sean Donnelly

Sean is a Senior Analyst at Econsultancy. A strategic thinker with deep knowledge of marketing and education, Sean advises clients via industry-leading research and briefings that cover marketing, emerging technologies and professional skills. Before joining Econsultancy, Seán worked at Dublin City University (DCU) where he led the delivery of over 150 innovation projects with SMEs and international businesses. Professor Darragh Power MSC, MA CIIITD

Darragh has worked in more than 30 countries facilitating sessions for more than 15,000 people from crèches in Belfast and Governments in Asia to Senior Global Leaders in technology. With a background in education and philosophy and practical experience in international business he is uniquely placed to integrate the purpose and profit dynamics in today’s economy with the intention to bring people together in service to communities and the wider world.

Mustafa, Samsun Technopark General Manager, will share his experiences as a jury member of the "Health-tech Istanbul Covid-19 Solutions Hackathon".
