The Long Island Explorium is thrilled to present the 8th Annual Maker Faire Long Island on Sunday, September 14, 2025, now at Stony Brook University for 2025!

Join us for a spectacular celebration of creativity, invention, and hands-on learning at the intersection of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math (STEAM). This year’s Faire is bigger than ever, with 80+ makers and 2,000+ attendees expected to gather for a full day of interactive exhibits, awe-inspiring demonstrations, and mind-expanding performances.

Maker Faire Long Island blends the best of a classic science fair with the wonder of a festival, creating a space where innovation and imagination collide. Dubbed the "Greatest Show & Tell on Earth," this event has been a beacon of ingenuity since 2015, attracting makers and visitors from across the New York Tri-State area and beyond.

Where can I park? 🅿️
Parking in campus lots is free on weekends. Lot 13 will be the designated parking lot for Maker Faire attendees. *(Please note: metered parking and garage parking are not free.)
We’ll provide a map with directions to Lot 13 and the Faire entrance closer to the event date.

Where is handicapped parking located? ♿
Each parking lot on campus is equipped with handicapped-accessible spaces.

Is the event accessible? ♿
Yes! Stony Brook University is an accessible campus, with wheelchair-friendly paths, ramps, and accessible restrooms available throughout the Faire grounds. If you have specific accessibility needs or questions, please contact us in advance at makerplanner@longislandexplorium.org, and we will forward your questions to the Stony Brook staff.

Dogs are allowed outdoors on campus; however, only service dogs are permitted indoors.

The show will go on rain or shine! We have large tents for outdoor exhibits and plenty of indoor spaces to keep everyone dry and comfortable.

Is this event age-appropriate for my children?
Absolutely! Maker Faire is fun and engaging for all ages, from toddlers to adults—there’s something for everyone aged 2 to 99+.

Will food and drinks be available at the Faire? 🍔🥤
Yes! A variety of food trucks and vendors will be on-site offering delicious meals, snacks, and beverages throughout the day. Whether you’re craving something sweet, savory, or a quick pick-me-up, we’ve got you covered. Outside food is permitted in outdoor areas, but we ask that you help us keep the campus clean by disposing of trash properly.

By using this ticket and/or participating in Maker Faire exhibits and/or activities, you assume all risks to you and/or your children of such, including damage, loss, harm, injury, and death to your person(s) and all risks resulting from negligent instruction or supervision, and you release The Explorium from all corresponding liability to you and your successors. Your rights are waived to any images and/or recordings you may appear in while at Maker Faire and any/all related promotional or documentary materials.

PHOTOGRAPH, RECORDING, AND PUBLICITY RIGHTS. You may appear in audio, visual, and/or audiovisual media recordings and images of Maker Faire and related promotional or documentary materials. You agree to your appearance and the appearance of your children in such recordings, images, and materials, and you waive any publicity rights or other rights you may have in such recordings, images, and materials. You consent to the use of such recordings, images, and materials by Promoters for any purpose without any compensation to you. Those uses may include without limitation transcription, modification, reproduction, public display, printing, uploading to websites, distribution, broadcast, and transmission in any form. You release Promoters from and waive any claims related to, the making and/or use of any such images, recordings, and materials.
