In this third edition of the Expert 2 Expert Talks, we will explore how high-tech can bring both an optimistic perspective to the current food system as well as delivering many negative trade-offs. We will be joined by two speakers; Agrifood Futures Community member Alice Casiraghi and guest speaker Raja Ramachandran, who will present their different points of view alongside real life case studies and examples.

ABOUT THE SPEAKERS

Raja Ramachandran has launched, with a brilliant team, www.ripe.io, leveraging connected technologies such as IOT, cloud, algorithms, machine learning and blockchains to help solve large, global problems around food. Raja recently was part of the early founding team at R3CEV and managed the product development function. Prior to R3CEV, Raja had a successful foreign exchange trading career, managing electronic trading and execution platforms and lead regulatory implementation over a 20 year career at Bank of Boston (BAML), Citi, Silicon Valley Bank and Wells Fargo. In addition, Raja helped co-found, was COO and lead two venture funded start ups to exit. Raja is excited to present to a European audience, sharing his expertise and knowledge for the benefit of Europe and RIS countries.

Alice Casiraghi is working on circular innovation, systemic design, UX, digitalisation. Co-founder and design strategist at FUL, helping companies turn circular opportunity into advantage by design. Interested in climate innovation, circular economy, cleantech, systemic design, and future scenarios. Member of the Global Shaper Milan Hub, Al Gore’s Climate Reality Leader, ISPI Future Leader.

These sessions are uniquely designed with a combination of actionable, objective insights, expert guidance and peer networking in order to deliver an enriching and distinctive learning experience.

WHAT IS THE AGRIFOOD FUTURES COMMUNITY?

Agrifood Futures is an exclusive community created by EIT Food for collaborative institutions, organisations and experts who are interested in increasing their industry knowledge, expanding their professional network, finding project partners and new resources, and exchanging experiences, opinions and ideas with their peers.

The community was originally established as a private LinkedIn group, however, at the end of 2021 moved to a private group on the EIT FoodHIVE platform.

To be accepted into the community, members must have at least 5 years experience working within the agrifood industry, or be a member of EIT Food, a partner organisation, or work within a research centre.
