Pottery Workshop, July 20

Get your hands stuck into some traditionally made Almerian clay, widely acknowledged to be the best in the World.

Lose yourself having fun making and painting pottery in the rarely opened old olive press at this pottery workshop delivered by the current pottery owners, the fifth generation (at least) of potters to keep the alfararia (pottery) thriving.

This fully guided event includes:

• all materials (paint, tools, clay);
• guided painting;
• a turn on the wheel creating your own ‘masterpiece’;
• take home what you make (see below re collection day);
• drinks and tapas;
• commentary on the history of the area, and an optional short walk around the area;
• translation services;
• optional additional collection day: collect your finished piece(s) with your fellow aspiring potters, fired (baked) and ready to take home. Over a drink with your fellow 'potters', of course!

Please note:

• Classes are given in English or translated by Laughing Goat from Spanish to English where this helps;
• You are responsible for getting yourself to Sorbas. If this is hard, contact us and we will do our best to find solutions (no promises!);
• If we have to cancel because we haven’t made minimum numbers, another date or full refund will be offered;
• This is an indoor event and COVID rules and protections will be offered in line with latest government guidance and Laughing Goat policies;
• Other dates can be booked as private parties for groups of six or more.
