Event description
Advancing the identification of early altered cardiometabolic fingerprint, from maternal-foetal biological system to high-risk adults.

About this event

Dr. Amigo will present the new era of metabolomics into clinical practice.

The clinically relevant information contained in the 1H-NMR spectra of blood plasma goes far beyond standard biomarkers including a set of parameters associated with cardiometabolic health lipoprotein profiling, glycoproteins, low molecular weight metabolites and lipid species.

Since the vascular wall releases molecules into the bloodstream that can reflect the pathological processes that take place in it, the concentration of these molecules participating in pathological processes could be potential biomarkers for the future appearance of diseases, even in the very beginning of life, as a consequence of the maternal-fetal environment adaptative response.
