PREMSTEM is a €9M research project funded by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme. We are a group of researchers from across the globe developing a new regenerative stem cell therapy to repair the brain damage caused by premature birth (encephalopathy of prematurity).

What is PREMSTEM's research goal?

To validate umbilical cord derived human mesenchymal stem cells (H-MSCs) as a regenerative therapy for encephalopathy of prematurity to improve the quality of life for preterm infants and reduce the societal costs of their special needs.
