Presentation of the results of the Living Lab FogGuru

This online event will present the results of a unique collaboration between three PhD students from the FogGuru European project, a company specialized in water distribution (EMIVASA), the Las Naves innovation center, and the València municipal service of the Integral Water Cycle. Together, they tackled the problem of adapting fog computing technologies in the domain of smart water management, and specifically the detection of abnormal water consumption patterns (which may well indicate a leak or a potential fraud).

The first part of the event will present the technological results from this collaboration and the concrete benefits they provide for EMIVASA, the València municipality, and eventually the citizens themselves.

The second part of the event will present the planned extension of this work, in collaboration with four new PhD students from the FogGuru project and La Marina de València, in order to develop an Internet-of-Things FabLab where anyone (students, entrepreneurs, citizens) will be able to experiment first-hand the benefits of fog computing technologies applied to the processing of environmental data collected in La Marina.

The Councilor for Innovation of València, Carlos Galiana; the councilor for the Integral Water Cycle of València, Elisa Valía; the vice-president for European programs at the University of Rennes 1, Sébastien Le Picard; and the project coordinator, Guillaume Pierre, from the University of Rennes 1 will welcome the participants to the event.
