Resilient Roots, video performance screening

By Alexandra Trujillo Tamayo

Overview

Resilient Roots: video-performances on body, territory & memory from ecofeminist views. Nov 4, 7–9 pm @ Teatro LATEA.

RESILIENT ROOTS, VIDEOPERFORMANCE SCREENING!

/////////////////////

This program brings together nine video performance works that, from ecofeminist perspectives, interrogate the relationship between body, territory, and memory. Natacha Voliakovsky (Argentina/NY) articulates resistance and biopolitics through gestures that expose both vulnerability and strength. Analia Segal (Argentina/NY) & María Cabrera (Spain) explores the materiality of the domestic as an extension of the landscape, questioning hierarchies of gender and power. Kevin Quiles Bonilla (Puerto Rico/NY) activates Caribbean memory from the diaspora, addressing displacement and environmental colonialism. Wanda Raimundi Ortiz (Puerto Rico/NY) connects performativity, race, and affective ecologies, positioning the body as an archive of resilience. From Ecuador, Alexandra Trujillo Tamayo draws on ritual, ecofeminism, and body politics to make visible the tensions between nature and technology; Fernanda Noboa experiments with rituality and natural elements; Cristina Duque examines environmental precarity through poetic visual languages; and Wanda López Trelles (Argentina) proposes intimate narratives of territory and embodiment. Finally, Carolina Bazo (Peru) reflects on extractivism and affectivity, revealing interdependence between the human and the non-human. Together, these works expand an ethics of care and resistance.
