About this event
How can nature-based interventions support health and connection across diverse communities in Latin America? In regions facing social, ecological, and health inequalities, innovative approaches are emerging to bridge people and nature in new ways. From digital platforms guiding mindful engagement with nature to social prescriptions that combat loneliness, these interventions are helping redefine care beyond clinics.
This session explores how programs in Brazil and Ecuador are using nature to promote well-being, connection, and equity. We’ll hear about the challenges and opportunities of implementing and researching these models in the Global South, and reflect on how different natural settings can shape both individual and ecological outcomes.
Co-organised by Giulia Catissi de Lima (Einstein Israelite Hospital), Eliseth Ribeiro Leao (Einstein Israelite Hospital), Gabriela Elizabeth Garcia Velez (Universidad de Cuenca), and Roberta Maria Savieto (Universidad de Cuenca), this session explores nature-based interventions in Brazil and Ecuador that enhance well-being, reduce loneliness, and foster community health.
