Practice languages, make new friends and have fun with us every week and for FREE!

We are a group of people keen to improve our second languages level (we exchange ALL languages) and to meet new people in Barcelona.

We meet on Wednesdays at 7pm, at Soda Bus: 150 Aribau street (10 minutes from Diagonal and Hospital Clinic stations), to exchange languages and to meet people.

This is a FREE event, although there's a minimum drink you'll have to have, since the bar lend us their space (€4).

This event is open to everyone, so you are all welcome to join us!! (If you are under 18, you must be accompanied by an adult).

Let's have some fun! :)

There will be a host giving you a sticker with your name, native language and language you want to practice. It is also ok if you just want to speak your own language :)

We will ask you before taking photos, by agreeing to be on the photo you allow us to post it on the social media.

Practica idiomas, haz nuevos amigos y diviértete con nosotros cada semana y GRATIS!

Somos un grupo de gente que quiere mejorar el nivel de sus segundos idiomas (intercambiamos TODOS los idiomas) y además conocer a gente nueva en Barcelona.

Nos encontramos los miércoles a las 19h., en el Soda Bus: calle Aribau 150 (a 10 minutos de los metros Diagonal y Hospital Clinic) para intercambiar idiomas y conocer gente.

Este evento es GRATUITO, pero hay una consumición mínima, ya que el bar nos presta su espacio (4€).

Este evento está abierto a todo el mundo, así que sois todos bienvenidos!! (Si eres menor de 18, debes ir acompañado de un adulto).

Habrá un anfitrión que te entregará una pegatina con tu nombre, idioma nativo e idioma que quieres practicar. No hay ningún problema en hablar solamente tu idioma :)

Te preguntaremos antes de tomar fotos, al aceptar estar en la foto nos permites publicarla en las redes sociales.

How does it work?

When arriving, each attendee receives a sticker with their name, native and target languages; with this, you can start exchanging languages, and it's as simple as speaking for a while in a language and for a while in the other one, so that all attendees can practice.

Can I go alone?

Most people come alone, so do not worry about that. In addition, all attendees come to meet people and talk, so it is very easy to start a conversation.

What are the ages of the attendees?

The language exchange is open to everyone. There are participants of all ages, from university students to people around their 60s, but the vast majority are in their 30s.

What's the level of the attendees?

They all have different levels, from beginner to advanced, but the idea is to practice with native speakers ;) What's important to improve your level is to put into practice the knowledge you already have, without worrying if you make mistakes, which is inevitable and essential to learn.

What languages are practiced?

We are open to everyone and to all languages. Initially only Spanish and English were exchanged, but since there are always native attendees of many other languages, all languages from which there're native speakers can be can be practiced. German, French, Italian, Portuguese, Catalan, Russian...

How will I recognize you?

When you arrive, you'll see a host welcoming everyone and you'll get a sticker with your name, native language and language you want to practice.

Do we have to pay?

The language exchange is a free event, but all attendees are asked to take at least one drink, since the bar lend us their space.

Aina is Barcelona’s Language Exchange founder and a Spanish teacher. She’s originally from Barcelona, ​​but she has lived in other countries such as Italy, Norway, Barbados and Saint Martin, where she learned several languages.

When she returned to Barcelona she wanted to maintain her level of English, Italian and Norwegian so she sought out language exchanges that met her needs and fit her schedule. After searching and searching, she could not find one that suited, so she decided to start her own.
