She earned her PhD in neuroscience at Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV-UNIL)cibm.ch and now uses EEG and MRI to study how Montessori classrooms influence children’s brain developmentcibm.ch.
In her pioneering research, Dr. Denervaud compares Montessori-educated children with peers in traditional schools. Her findings are truly inspiring: Montessori children often outperform their peers in creativity, well-being, and academic achievement, even when measures of raw executive function are similarmontessoripublic.org. Brain imaging reveals that Montessori kids perceive mistakes differently – treating errors as learning opportunities without fear or judgment – which leads to more flexible, creative thinkingmontessoripublic.org.
