Webinar: Green New Deal beyond Growth for the EU
Overview
Research & Degrowth international and the European Environmental Bureau invite you to an exploration of the Green New Deal beyond Growth for the EU.
Europe is at a crossroads. Democratic deficit, wealth inequality, and ecological breakdown are converging into a deep political and social crisis. While the European Green Deal promises transformation, it risks entrenching the status quo by depending too heavily on markets, austerity, and GDP growth.
A new policy brief by Riccardo Mastini, published by Research & Degrowth International, makes a bold case for a different path: “A Green New Deal Beyond Growth for the EU.” The brief argues that Europe needs a transformative Green New Deal — one that places social justice and ecological sustainability at its heart, without relying on endless economic growth.
Join us for a presentation of the policy brief followed by a panel discussion with experts from Oxfam EU, the Autonomy Institue and the EEB !
nb: the event will be held on Zoom with a livestream on Youtube at @ResearchDegrowth
Audience questions will be collected via Mentimeter in order to allow all participants to contribute !
