ABOUT COMPASSIONATE VOICESCompassionate Voices is a growing, vibrant community for women and girls — and the mums and female guardians who walk alongside them. Based in Derbyshire, with members joining us from across the UK, we exist to support those navigating difficult times and seeking a safe, uplifting space to reconnect with themselves and others.At the heart of our mission are our fully funded, FREE journalling workshops — a gentle but powerful first step toward healing, confidence, and connection.OUR UNIQUE & HIGHLY RECOMMENDED WORKSHOPS• The Power of YOU: Women's journalling workshops funded by The National Lottery Community Fund. Almost always reaches capacity and continues to grow in demand.• This is ME/The Power of YOU for Girls’ journalling Workshops: Built on the same successful model but tailored to younger minds. Supported by Children in Need, these sessions are quickly becoming as popular as the women’s.Women and girls join us from all backgrounds and experiences, but they share a common thread: many are struggling with low self-esteem, anxiety, or a lack of confidence. The reasons vary — isolation, financial hardship, loss, physical or mental health challenges, past trauma, menopause, or perimenopause, bullying and more — but the need for connection is universal.WHY OUR COMMUNITY MATTERSIn a world where many feel overwhelmed by the news, social media, and the pace of life, it’s easy to slip into fear and isolation. Yet deep down, so many of us want to make a difference — in our homes, our communities, and even for the planet.Compassionate Voices creates a space where women and girls can come together to be heard, feel valued, and share hope. Here, purpose is rediscovered, confidence is rebuilt, and creativity becomes a tool for healing and empowerment.Our campaigns, aligned with key national dates such as International Women’s Day and our annual Speak Out event in September, bring our whole community together through Crafting with Purpose, performing arts and creative activities that amplify women’s and girls’ voices.A BRIDGE TO A MORE FULFILLED LIFEWhile we are not a crisis organisation, we proudly serve as a compassionate bridge. We work closely with social prescribers, where needed we signpost to regional and national support services and share helpful literature and emergency contacts in accessible ways.Compassionate Voices is more than a workshop.
