Thistledown Threads
I’m Elana, a textile designer and lifelong maker drawn to the quiet beauty of hand embroidery and slow craft. After studying fashion design and working in the New York City fashion industry, I moved to the Netherlands and returned to stitching as a more intentional, meditative way of creating.
My workshops are gentle, welcoming spaces where participants are invited to slow down, learn foundational techniques, and reconnect with the rhythm of making by hand. Rooted in sustainability, my teaching encourages care, repair, and a deeper appreciation for natural materials and the stories textiles hold.
