Dr. Tywanna Smith (Dr. T)
Dr. Tywanna Smith is an award-winning international sports manager, best-selling author, speaker, and college professor. For over 18 years, she has worked with 60+ professional athletes from the NBA, NFL, WNBA, MLB, and FIBA. Dr. Smith has also co-executive produced an award-winning international sports documentary titled Ballin’ Abroad. In 2024, she co-founded the first-ever Athletes Abroad Summit for American athletes who play sports abroad. As a former professional basketball player, she has become a thought leader in business and sports.
Dr. Smith has served as a keynote speaker with the NFL, the HBCU Celebration Bowl, the Black Student-Athlete Summit, and the Black Sports Business Symposium. Her work has been featured in Forbes, NerdWallet, NBC Sports, and at the L.A. Times Festival of Books. In addition, Dr. Smith has been recognized as a 2024 Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award Recipient, Ole Miss Top 40 Under 40 Alumni, Mississippi Business Journal Top 50 Under 40 Leader, and West Memphis Sports Hall of Fame inductee.
As a double alumnus of The University of Mississippi (‘04, ‘05), Dr. Smith serves on the Ole Miss Alumni Association Board of Directors. She is also an Adjunct Professor at the University of Memphis (‘23). Dr. Smith serves the community in many ways including on the Main Street Association of West Memphis’ Board of Directors and as a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. She also leads the Tywanna Inmon-Smith Charitable Fund where she has donated over $8,000 to girl’s basketball players across Arkansas.
