James is passionate about helping planners, councils, and developers create walkable, well-designed buildings and places, faster, more affordably, and in a way that delivers on government policy objectives.

James led the award-winning 20MinuteNeighbourhoods policy and the Future Homes program for the Victorian Government. James helped shape Plan Melbourne 2017–2050, the city’s long-term metropolitan strategy, and he brings over two decades of experience across government, design strategy, and urban policy.

Trained in the UK and Netherlands, he began his career in Dublin and then UK, and worked in many different roles across state and local government. He is now at the forefront of AI-driven planning transformation.
