Jo du Preez

Jo du Preez is an autistic psychotherapist, supervisor, and tutor, accredited with the BACP. Holding a Masters with Distinction in Trauma Informed Approaches from Nottingham University and a First Class Honours BSc in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Jo brings a wealth of theoretical knowledge and practical skill to her work. She is qualified in multiple therapeutic modalities, including Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Person-Centred Counselling, and EMDR, and works with individuals, groups, and couples.

Jo has extensive experience working across diverse settings, including the third sector, educational institutions, the NHS, and her own private practice. Jo has sat on various committees and has extensive experience as a clinical director. Her professional background encompasses delivering therapy, providing clinical supervision to trainees and experienced practitioners, and tutoring on counselling training programmes up to degree level, as well as developing new services.

Jo's professional interests focus on trauma recovery, affirmative support for neurodivergence, and exploring the impact of systemic discrimination and power imbalances within therapeutic and societal contexts. Her Master's thesis explored systemic paralysis in collective vicarious trauma, reflecting her deep interest in the intersection between trauma-informed practice and systemic realities.
