StoneCrabs Theatre Company
StoneCrabs Theatre places underrepresented voices and untold stories centre stage.
We produce and tour high quality, innovative, socially engaged, form-breaking new theatre work locally, nationally, and internationally. We have been creating work from the Isle of Wight since 2016 and have delivered projects and performed in theatres across the UK including Yorkshire, Manchester, Leeds, Isle of Wight, Portsmouth, and London; and internationally including Japan, Portugal and Brazil. As well as the Isle of Wight, our members currently live in London and Devon.
Our work on the ground engages with diverse communities and we use professional theatre as a tool for raising aspirational, educational, personal and social development. We provide enriching accessible cultural experiences to UK-wide audiences as well as free mentoring, training and staging opportunities to young people at early stages of their career. We have produced many community/heritage projects, amongst others, two oral history projects and over ten LGBTQ+ themed theatre productions. Recently, with our Out On An Island project, StoneCrabs has supported arts, social activities and research into the untold heritage of the LGBTQ+ community on the Isle of Wight.
StoneCrabs is a registered charity in England and Wales.
