Screening of the Documentary The Valley of the NeanderthalsThe Museum of Human Evolution will host a screening of the documentary The Valley of the Neanderthals, directed by Javier Trueba and Gabriela Villecco. The film takes us to the area known as the Valley of the Neanderthals, home to the archaeological sites of Pinilla del Valle, an exceptional location that has transformed our understanding of this human species. Research carried out over recent decades at the Calvero de la Higuera sites, located in the Lozoya Valley, has uncovered human remains, stone tools and other evidence documenting the presence of Neanderthal groups in the Madrid region tens of thousands of years ago. The screening will be introduced by Enrique Baquedano and Juan Luis Arsuaga, co-directors of the archaeological excavations.
