About this event

  • 3 hours 30 minutes

Let’s spend the morning discussing how to live our best lives as internationals in Girona!

Living in a different country as a mature adult brings both huge rewards and complicated challenges. This 3 hour free workshop will discuss how to identify and overcome potential challenges, introduce resources you may not know about, and provide a forum to talk about how the international community might choose to support each other and the wider Girona community. Whether you're looking to clarify your plans for the future, improve your physical health, mental well-being, or social connections, or talk about the process of integrating into Catalán culture, this event has something for everyone.

Don't miss out on this opportunity to invest in your future self!

Hosted by Age in Spain, the national non profit organization helping you live your best life in Spain and Tessa ten Tusscher, psychologist and coach at Making Changes, Spain.

Are you one of those people who decided to take advantage of the freedoms offered by retirement and make the radical shift to live far from home, family, and native culture in this small city of Girona? There are many of us!

What are the key characteristics of this group of travelers? Itchy feet? Looking for something new? Dreamers who are finally living it? Whatever it is, we find ourselves here in Girona in our third phase of life. And we could all use some help figuring out how to live the dream whilst protecting the downside.

This event will tackle these questions, offering both practical tips and a forum for us to talk together. This will help us to support each other, integrate into the local culture and put things in place to give ourselves the best chance of thriving in our later years.

Topics include:

  • Practical planning for personal and financial affairs
  • Community engagement
  • Integrating into Girona
  • Integrative and western models of health
  • Learning a new language in your later years
  • Psychology of aging
  • Eating well to age well

There will be plenty of opportunity for interaction and by the end of the morning, we will know more about help that is available, things we need to do for our security and wellness, and how we may choose to build community.

Please come and share your experiences, listen to others and engage more with the international members of the Girona community.
