Description
Join a small group of fellow-conference-goers at El Portalón for a unique evening of wine sharing, conversation, and tasting delicious Basque tapas - picoteo!. Here’s the idea … bring a bottle of wine that is special to you—whether because it’s from your country, you just absolutely love it (and want others to know it), or you are just curious about it yourself. Upon arrival we’ll open your bottles, and we’ll share them all! El Portalón will provide us with a beautiful room and lay on a selection of local tapas to accompany your wines. We can’t wait to meet you, and to share your wine stories! (Space is limited to 30 participants, so book your spot early!)
(If you don’t have a bottle of wine to bring, you can buy one at the many wine shops in Vitoria. Our sommelier, Juan Manuel Gonzalvo would be happy recommend one for you during the 2 day conference!)
About the venue: El Portalón, named after its large entrance door is a 15th century building which was built as an Inn for merchants. It used to have a ramp to access the basement or the stable, where merchants stored their goods and carriages to protect them from bad weather and thieves.Since then and throughout its history the building has had several purposes. The building was restored in 1957 and nowadays houses one of the city’s best-known restaurants.
