Future Mobility Research Hub (CARNETBarcelona)Initiated by SEAT S.A., Volkswagen Group Innovation, and the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya · BarcelonaTech (UPC), is an open hub to industrial and academic partners from the areas of automotive and mobility research & innovation, located in Barcelona with project-based collaboration. <h3>Registration open until 25 Sept - 18:00 CEST</h3><h3>EN:</h3><h2>The Challenge</h2>🚎 The next Citython will be held in the city of Lublin, Poland, and is focused on sustainable mobility, giving priority to citizens and trying to reduce the number of cars in the city centre. This shift will need to incorporate urban planning in order to define the new uses of public space. In the near future, public transport and non-motorized vehicles will become the main means of transport to move around the city, for this reason accessibility to public transport must be considered for everyone.👉 The three challenges for the Lublin Citython are:<ol><li>Reclaiming city streets for citizens. How traffic should be removed from the city centre taking into account the needs of elderly and disabled people, as well as people with mobility limitations, mothers with children and local entrepreneurs.</li><li>Accessibility to urban space, public transport and mobile services, with particular emphasis on disabled and elderly people.</li><li>Bus routes optimization through citizens’ engagement.</li></ol>🏆 There will be one winning team for each city challenge (three winning teams in total), and each of them will receive a financial award of 1.500 €.📅 Registration deadline: 25 September - 18:00 CESTMore information: <a href="http://citython.eu/lublin/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Citython website</a> <h2>FAQs</h2>WHAT IS A HACKATHON?A hackathon is a sprint-like event in which small groups of young professionals search for innovative and creative solutions for everyday problems. The result can be a program, a prototype, a test model, a tool a design solution or a concept.WHAT IS CITYTHON LUBLIN?An online 10-day hackathon that brings together creative and inquisitive minds to solve the current mobility challenges that people in Barcelona are facing in the aftermath of the confinement stage. Young professionals from the fields of urbanism and computer and data sciences will be brought together for fun and an intense session of co-creation, hacking and collaboration. The difference to a typical hackathon is that Citython requires data analysis to understand a problem and reach a conclusion. Furthermore, this new edition will be held online in order to ensure all possible security measures following recent events.WHAT IS A TECHPILL?A TechPill is a short but definitive training/knowledge session on a certain topic (each will last around 30 minutes). The TechPills will offer you cutting-edge knowledge about Open Data, data analysis and visualization and gentrification so you can come up with the best ideas.HOW DOES THE ONLINE CITYTHON WORK?Due to the current crisis and the recent confinement stage, this new edition of Citython will be held online. After the registration process, the corresponding links to connect to the virtual platform will be sent to each participant. The welcome session, tech pills and the awards ceremony will be open to all the students, mentors and citizens. The same procedure applies to mentoring days, where each group will be able to attend individual mentoring sessions to receive feedback on their progress.WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS TO PARTICIPATE?You have to meet the following requirements: You must be at least 18 years old on the dates of the event. You have to apply as an individual on our website, but you can indicate in the registration with whom you would like to form a team. You must have a background in either data/computing or urbanism. Dodatkowo uczestnik musi złożyć wniosek rejestracyjny na stronie internetowej w swoim imieniu jednak uczestnik podczas rejestracji może wskazać, z kim chciałby stworzyć drużynę. Uczestnicy muszą mieć doświadczenie i wiedzę w dziedzinach baz danych/obliczeniach/urbanistyce. Mile widziane będzie doświadczenie w więcej niż jednej dziedzinie.
