About this event

Data in the bar! Yes, you have read correctly “data”, not date! There won’t be romantic scenery but a few tables, laptops and free drinks.

No previous knowledge required, just bring your laptop please :)

We brought to you a datenguru in order to turn absolute beginners into Data fanatics. How? By covering the basics of some programming languages and with the help of a Data App Creator (Shimoku). You’ll learn to connect your machine with a Data Lake, gather and process some data, and (the best part!) make your work come to life with a dynamic graphic representation on a web application.

This will be just the beginning. After the workshop, we'll grab food and drinks (the first rounds are on us!) and keep the conversation going. Ask us anything about Data, about working in IT or our learning itineraries. In 12 weeks, we can make you set foot in the IT sector!

What will you learn?

• How Data Scientist work and why companies have such a big demand of them.
• The basics of Python.
• What’s AWS S3 and how to organize it properly.
• Use environment variables.
• Use pandas to manipulate tables on Python.
• Use matplotlib and echarts to plot some results.
• How to connect to an external SDK (software development kit).
• Make your data come to life by plotting your results on a web application.
• An overview of HTML and CSS.

Who is the mentor?

Daniel Castejón. Since he finished in 2016 an educational program on Data Mining, Machine Learning and Big Data, has trained and mentored more than 500 students. He has consulted over twenty companies in the areas of data engineering, machine learning and employee training, such as SEAT, Yego, Epsilon Technologies to name a few. Currently, he is CTO of Whispers.at where he uses the same technological stack as he will be showing on the workshop. Additionally, Dani is a CampSite advisor on its Data Science Bootcamp.
