El II Congreso Internacional de Pacientes con Artrosis, organizado por OAFI, Fundación Internacional de la Artrosis, tendrá lugar los próximos 9 y 10 de octubre de 2018 en el Auditorio Axa de Barcelona, enmarcado en el Día Internacional de Enfermedades Reumáticas (12 de octubre). El acontecimiento será gratuito y abierto a todos los públicos.
Este acontecimiento internacional anual centrado en los pacientes con artrosis, es un lugar de reunión para pacientes, expertos médicos, sociedades científicas, administraciones públicas, centros de investigación y desarrollo y otras entidades relacionadas con la artrosis.
Con el objetivo de informar, concienciar y formar sobre las mejores prácticas para la prevención, investigación y tratamiento de esta patología que afecta a 300 millones de personas en el mundo. En esta ocasión, el Congreso profundizará, con el paciente como protagonista central, temas claves e innovaciones científicas en artrosis y enfermedades crónicas relacionadas, con especial énfasis en estrategias basadas en evidencia científica.
Ponencias específicas con un enfoque holístico nos hablarán de prevención y tratamientos concretos para los diferentes grupos de pacientes afectados con artrosis: mujeres, deportistas y personas mayores.
Expertos de renombre mundial, instituciones, entidades y asociaciones de pacientes, en el campo de la artrosis asistirán al Congreso para asegurar el mismo éxito de la edición anterior.
Entre ellos, contaremos con:

El Catedrático de Estructura Económica en la IQS School of Management de la Universitat Ramon Llull, el Sr. Santiago Niño-Becerra que nos regalará una clase magistral bajo el título “Responsabilidad: la nueva exigencia de la protección social”.

El Dr. en Física y Periodista, el Sr. Tomàs Molina, que junto al Dr. Vergés, Presidente de OAFI, nos presentarán “El Paciente Barométrico” un estudio que analiza la relación existente entre las condiciones meteorológicas y la artrosis.

También disfrutaremos de la presencia del Venerable Thubten Wangchen, monje budista y Fundador de la Casa del Tíbet de Barcelona, que nos hablará de las limitaciones mentales y el dolor.

Xesco Espar, coach y entrenador de deportistas de élite, aportará aspectos relevantes des del punto de vista de un entrenador profesional.

Sesión de Taichí al aire libre, podrán hacerse ecografías, medir su salud articular, evaluar el movimiento de sus articulaciones, entre otros.

Se presentarán importantes novedades científicas en el tratamiento y prevención de la artrosis.

Temas como dolor, sexo, deporte o prevención serán los temas más destacados en el Congreso. Así como la artrosis en la mujer, dada su mayor prevalencia.

The 2nd International Meeting of Osteoarthritis Patients, organised by the OAFI, the Osteoarthritis International Foundation, will be held on 9 and 10 October 2018 in the Axa Auditorium in Barcelona, as part of the International Day for Rheumatic Diseases (12 October). The event will be free and open to the general public.
This annual international event, which focuses on osteoarthritis patients, is a meeting place for patients, medical experts, scientific societies, public administrations, research and development centres and other entities involved with osteoarthritis.
The sessions are aimed at informing, raising awareness and training on the best practices for the prevention, research and treatment of this pathology which affects 300 million people worldwide. On this occasion, the Congress will focus, with the patient as the central protagonist, on key issues and scientific innovations in osteoarthritis and related chronic diseases, with special emphasis on strategies based on scientific evidence.
Specific lectures with a holistic approach will talk about prevention and specific treatments for the different groups of patients affected by osteoarthritis: women, sportspeople and the elderly.
World-renowned experts, institutions, bodies and patient associations in the field of osteoarthritis will attend the Congress to ensure that it is equally successful as the first edition.

The Professor of Economic Structure in the IQS School of Management of the Ramon Llull University, Mr. Santiago Niño-Becerra who will give us a master class. The title: “Responsibility: the new requirement of social protection”.

Dr. in Physics and Journalist, Mr. Tomàs Molina, who together with Dr. Vergés, President of OAFI, will present “The Barometric Patient” a study that analyzes the relationship between weather conditions and Osteoarthritis.

We will also enjoy the presence of the Venerable Thubten Wangchen, a Buddhist monk and Founder of the House of Tibet in Barcelona, who will talk about mental limitations and pain.

Other activities: outdoor Tai Chi session, ultrasound measurement of joints condition, evaluate joint movement, among many other practical workshops
