How can I join Retiro Running?

Do you offer training sessions?

We are a community of runners and do not offer formal training. Join us to run with others at various experience levels and goals.

What pace does the group run at?

Our group's pace varies, typically around 5:30 min/km during the week and 5:50 min/km on Sundays. Runners go at their own pace and regroup at the end.

Where is the meeting and starting point?

We meet at the Puerta de la Independencia fountain, the main entrance of Retiro Park, near the Puerta de Alcalá.

Where is the finishing point?

On Sundays, we finish at the starting point. During the week, we finish in front of the Retiro Library, near the Statue of the goddess Hera.

Is there a place to store belongings during events?

Currently, we do not have a dedicated space for storing belongings. Occasionally, we coordinate with nearby bars for this purpose. Please let us know in advance if needed.

What is Meet&Chill?

Meet&Chill are our social events for members to connect and have fun, including activities like karaoke, bowling, and picnics. These events usually require pre-registration.

How can I become a co-organizer or staff member of Retiro Running?

Being part of the staff includes benefits like free entry to events and a free t-shirt. Applicants should have been with the group for a long time, understand all aspects, speak good English, know the rules, routes, and events, and have a deep love for the group.

How can I share my project with the Retiro Running community?

We welcome personal projects from members who have been with us for a while. Fill out this form to share your project, whether it's related to running, coaching, healthy food, art, music, podcasts, or more.

What are "meteocrazy" events?

Accepted Answer

"Meteocrazy" events challenge runners with adverse weather conditions. These events are optional and depend on weather safety. Please read the terms and conditions before participating.

How do the 2 free weeks work?

New members get two free weeks starting from their registration date. After this trial, select a plan to continue participating in our events.

What should I do after paying for an individual event?

Show proof of payment at the event start and RSVP  Here or on Meetup to confirm your attendance.

Can I make payments in ways other than through the website?

Accepted Answer

Yes, cash payments are accepted before the event. In urgent cases, Bizum, Revolut, or PayPal may be considered, but the main payment method is through the website.

How does the recurring payment plan work?

Recurring payments are automatic monthly, but you can cancel anytime and opt for manual payments.

What happens if I bought a service and RetiroRunning is unexpectedly suspended or closed?

Refunds will be issued for services paid within 15 days of closure. Annual services will honor t-shirt delivery even during a hiatus. Read the terms and conditions for more details.

How can I join the WhatsApp community?

After completing a trial period and selecting a plan, you can request to join our WhatsApp group. For security reasons, we do not accept unknown numbers.

Are there rules in the WhatsApp community?

Yes, we have rules to maintain a positive and safe environment. Key rules include no violence, no spam, and respecting group times.

Why am I no longer part of the WhatsApp community?

Membership is reviewed every 3 months. Inactive members may be removed to keep the community active and engaged. Rejoin by showing activity and participation in events.
