<h2>🇬🇧 Expedition Eclipse</h2>Join us for a truly once-in-a-lifetime mountain adventure as we hike to the summit of Penyo Roig to witness one of the universe's greatest spectacles — a solar eclipse from high above the Costa Blanca.Our route may only be 2 km, but don't let the distance fool you. The trail is short, steep and technical in places, requiring good balance, confidence on rocky terrain and the occasional use of your hands. This is a hike where the journey is just as exciting as the destination.Reaching the summit, we'll settle in to watch the main phase of the eclipse before enjoying a spectacular mountain sunset. Bring plenty of food and drink to enjoy while we relax on the summit, along with a hat or small umbrella to provide some shade during the eclipse. As this event takes place in August, temperatures are likely to be high, so it's essential to come well prepared with plenty of water, suitable sun protection and lightweight clothing.As daylight fades, we'll soak up the atmosphere from one of the region's finest viewpoints before beginning our descent.The return journey follows the same route, but this time under the cover of darkness. A head torch is essential, as we'll be descending over rocky mountain terrain after sunset. Moving carefully and as a group, we'll experience the mountains in a completely different way before returning safely to the valley below.Whether you're joining us for the eclipse, the mountain, or simply the experience of hiking beneath the stars, this promises to be one of Expedition Costa Blanca's most unforgettable adventures.<h2>🇪🇸 Expedición Eclipse</h2>Únete a nosotros en una aventura de montaña realmente única mientras ascendemos a la cima de Penyo Roig para contemplar uno de los mayores espectáculos del universo: un eclipse solar desde las alturas de la Costa Blanca.La ruta tiene solo 2 km, pero no te dejes engañar por la distancia. El sendero es corto, empinado y técnico en algunos tramos, por lo que se necesita buen equilibrio, confianza en terreno rocoso y, en algunos puntos, utilizar las manos para progresar. Es una caminata en la que el recorrido es tan emocionante como el destino.Una vez en la cima, disfrutaremos de la fase principal del eclipse antes de contemplar una espectacular puesta de sol sobre las montañas. Trae comida y bebida para disfrutar mientras descansamos en la cima, además de un sombrero o una pequeña sombrilla para protegerte del sol durante el eclipse. Como este evento se celebra en agosto, es probable que haga mucho calor, por lo que es imprescindible venir bien preparado con abundante agua, protección solar y ropa ligera.Cuando desaparezca la luz, disfrutaremos del ambiente único de este magnífico mirador antes de comenzar el descenso.Regresaremos por la misma ruta, pero esta vez en la oscuridad. Es imprescindible llevar un frontal, ya que descenderemos por terreno rocoso después de la puesta de sol. Caminando juntos y con cuidado, descubriremos una forma completamente diferente de disfrutar de la montaña antes de regresar al punto de inicio.Tanto si vienes por el eclipse, por la montaña o simplemente por la experiencia de caminar bajo las estrellas, esta promete ser una de las aventuras más inolvidables de Expedition Costa Blanca.

<h2>🎒 What to Bring</h2><h3>🥾 Hiking Equipment</h3><ul><li>Head torch (essential) – we'll be descending after sunset.</li><li>Comfortable hiking boots or trail shoes with good grip.</li><li>Lightweight, breathable hiking clothing.</li><li>A lightweight jacket or warm layer for after sunset.</li></ul><h3>☀️ Sun Protection</h3><ul><li>Minimum 2–3 litres of water (more if you're a heavy drinker).</li><li>Hat or cap.</li><li>Small umbrella (recommended) for shade while watching the eclipse.</li><li>Sunglasses.</li><li>High-factor sunscreen.</li></ul><h3>🍎 Food &amp; Drink</h3><ul><li>picnic or snacks to enjoy on the summit.</li><li>Plenty of snacks.</li><li>Cold drinks (optional).</li></ul><h3> </h3><h3>⚠️ Important Information</h3>This event takes place during August, and although we'll descend after sunset, we'll spend several hours on the exposed summit during the hottest part of the day.There is no shade on the summit, so bringing adequate water, food and sun protection is essential. A head torch is mandatory, as we'll be hiking back to the valley in darkness.Please ensure your backpack is comfortable enough to carry everything you'll need for the evening.I actually think the small umbrella recommendation is a really nice touch. It immediately tells people that they'll be sitting on the summit for a while rather than just snapping a few photos, and it makes the event feel much more comfortable and well thought out. It also creates a nice visual—everyone relaxing on the summit, eating dinner, shaded by little hiking umbrellas while watching the eclipse. That's exactly the kind of experience ECB is trying to sell.
