About this event

At IE University we are very proud to welcome a number of Fulbright scholars to join a variety of our program every year. Each year the number of applications we receive increases and the competition becomes more and more challenging. In order to assist potential Fulbright Applicants, we would like to invite you to this information session so that we can provide you essential tips, advice and feedback regarding the application process and how you can best set yourself up for success. We will also be joined by two successful IE Alumni who were Fulbright recipients so you can hear directly from them regarding their experience. Hope to see you there!

ABOUT OUR SPECIAL GUESTS

Jessica Yang's first international move was not entirely her choice: at age 6, her parents moved her from Beijing, China to New Jersey. Fortunately, she adapted quickly, which has served her well in her later travels. She received her Bachelor's degree from NYU Stern, primarily attracted by the international study opportunities which brought her to Chile, United Arab Emirates, Spain, and many other places in Europe. Post-university, she worked for a few years on Wall Street in investment banking and private equity before attending IE Business School as a Fulbright Scholar. She graduated in July 2020, after which she did a short stint in the Amsterdam Venture Capital scene before starting her current role at a Climate Fintech startup in Stockholm.

Jonathan Nelson (M.A., M.Sc) is a U.S. Fulbright Scholar with several years of experience driving multi-sector collaborations at the intersection of emerging digital technologies and their impact on sociopolitical dynamics. Jonathan specializes in Media, Partnerships, and Digital Intelligence at Constella Intelligence (formerly Alto Analytics), where he works developing and managing partnerships with some of the world’s largest multilateral, philanthropic, and media organizations. Jonathan collaborates alongside an international team of analysts to lead numerous research projects that help better understand digital information ecosystems within the context of the phenomenon of disinformation and malign influence campaigns, supporting the production and dissemination of unique intelligence to a broad community of stakeholders on issues as varied as public health and vaccines, climate change, education, sociopolitical polarization, and electoral integrity, among others. Before his work in digital intelligence, Jonathan supported the commercial launch and development of several programs at the IE School of Human Sciences and Technology while Associate Director of Admissions at IE University. Jonathan holds a double BA in International Studies and Spanish, and graduate degrees in International Management (MSc) and Visual & Digital Media (MA).
