About this event
Is it possible to manage water in a virtual world?
This is the debate question for the EIT Digital pitching event. The last InnoWise Scale pitching will close the series of talks Road to 2030: Future circular water-cycle perspectives with an insightful conversation about the usage of digital tools to manage water. The series will be taking place online between the 22 and the 30 of November 2022.
Most of the unexpected events such as flooding, storm surges or failure of assets are not truly ‘unexpected’. In many cases they are predictable, we just fail to plan and prepare. Digital twins are a great way to bring new pre-emptive management and operation to any building or asset, and the technology is also a great fit for water infrastructure.
Following the challenge presented by Cadagua – the problem holder of the InnoWise Scale Digital competition -, the panellists will deep dive into the role of digital twins in improving the optimization of resources.
Meet the participants:
The problem holder: Cadagua
Spanish company of the Ferrovial group specialising in the development of water treatment and desalination. Their challenge for InnoWise competition is to allow the management of several plants remotely by the same manager without the need to travel to each plant daily by means of digital tools.
The solution providers:
- PYDRO (Germany)
- Blue Gold (Italy)
- Sensfix (Poland)
- Wakaru Consulting (Portugal)
- Biowave technologies (Ireland)
- GRIDDIT (Italy)
The panellists:
- Marina Arnaldos, Cetaqua: Marina Arnaldos is the Director of Growth and Solutions at Cetaqua, the water technology center of Agbar and Veolia Spain, where she steers the technological strategy and new projects development.
- Keith Hays, Bluefield Research: Keith Hays is a seasoned market insight professional with 22 years of experience in the telecoms, energy, and water sectors. As Co-founder and Vice President of Bluefield Research, Keith leads the firm’s global consulting practice that supports a wide range of industry players’ strategies, business development, and marketing functions exclusively in the water sector.

About the competition:
The InnoWise Scale pitching competitions are the final step after 3 months of mentoring, training, and networking opportunities between problem-holders and solution providers. The competitions focus on finding innovative solutions to reverse water scarcity, and changing water misuse and pollution to reduce, reuse and non-use water.
Winners of the competitions will be granted 12,000 euros (1st prize) and 10,000 euros (2nd prize) in equity-free cash, to be used for scaling up their business. The evaluation will be based on the innovation and impact of the solution presented.
Moreover, there will be a special prize of 30,000 euros for testing purposes. This prize will be granted to the solution provider that better addresses the challenge and needs of the end user: Cadagua (Spain).
