CEBE (Spanish Scientists in Belgium, for its acronym in Spanish) was founded with the support of the Spanish foundation for science and technology (FECYT) and its objective is:– Facilitate the networking among scientists from any field to share experiences not only in academia but also in the business world– Scientific outreach: bring science to society– Institutional visibility: CEBE will represent the science interest in Spain and Belgium– Promote collaborations between Spanish and Belgian institutions

🎤 Speakers: ✅ Marta del Amo – Technical Advisor at the Spanish National Scientific Advisory Office (ONAC). A science journalist with over 15 years of experience in science communication, she was the Editor-in-Chief of MIT Technology Review en Español and Editorial Coordinator of Retina at El País.✅ Eric Piaget – Science Diplomacy Coordinator at EUTOPIA and Visiting Research Fellow at UNU-CRIS. An expert in public and science diplomacy, with a focus on regional integration and international relations.Moderator: Luis Díaz Allegue – FWO postdoct at Antwerp University and Policy and Scientific Diplomacy Committee Leader at CEBE <h3>🎤 Event Format</h3>This will be an interactive roundtable discussion, where our speakers will debate how scientists can better influence political decision-making and how these relationships are becoming more professionalized. There will also be a space for audience participation and Q&amp;A. <h3>🗣️ Event Language</h3>The event will be held in English to ensure international participation. <h3>☕ Networking Opportunities</h3>After the roundtable, we invite you to join a networking session with snacks and drinks, where you can exchange ideas with the speakers and other attendees interested in science diplomacy.
