Quantum Discovery Tour 2026
Quantum readiness event linking industry, users and institutions, exploring San Sebastian’s key ecosystem via Q-Expo side trip from Bilbao.
Quantum readiness for business: bridging the market gap and discovering San Sebastian’s Quantum Mile.
● Wednesday, 20 May 2026
● From 9:00 (Departure from Bilbao) to 15:30 (Arrival in Bilbao with optional stop at Bilbao Airport)
Join us for an exclusive Q-Expo side event designed for the quantum industry, end-users, and institutional stakeholders. This event aims to connect the dots across the community and offer a unique insight into San Sebastian’s vibrant and rapidly expanding quantum ecosystem.
Participants will be able to choose between two tailored itineraries—an institutional track and a business-focused track—each providing direct access to leading initiatives, infrastructures, and companies driving the local quantum strategy.
A highlight of the tour will be the visit to two leading facilities in the Basque region: the IBM System-Two quantum computer and nanoGUNE’s Quantum Hardware laboratories, where cutting-edge quantum device research is being developed in collaboration with Quantum Motion.
The business track will feature a session facilitated by Adigital, where quantum and non-quantum companies will engage in one-to-one discussions on how quantum technologies can help optimize current business processes. This matchmaking session will facilitate connections, partnerships, and future collaborations across the quantum industry.
The institutional track will help participants gain first-hand insight into the Basque Quantum strategy, led by the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa and the Basque Government, meet some of its key players, and see how the region is building a strong, collaborative environment for research, innovation, and commercialization.
The experience will conclude with a networking lunch offering a relaxed setting to exchange ideas with fellow participants and local quantum actors.
This side event is free of charge for registered attendees and transportation between Bilbao and San Sebastián (round trip) will be provided. An optional stop at Bilbao’s airport can be provided upon sufficient demand.
If you are interested in taking part in this visit, you may submit a participation request through the event’s registration form.
Please note that submitting a request does not guarantee a place. Attendance will only be confirmed once the organizers have reviewed and approved your application.
This side event is co-organized by Diputación Foral de Gipuzkoa, BIC Gipuzkoa, Basque Quantum, CIC nanoGUNE, Quantum Motion, Adigital, and Multiverse Computing.
