El original Cuarteto de Guitarras Flamencas “Al-Hamra” interpreta obras compuestas por Manuel Granados y ambientadas en los guitarristas más importantes de la segunda mitad del siglo XIX. Dicho repertorio nos invita a un recorrido histórico-musical por las diferentes formas de composición de la guitarra solista y por los guitarristas flamencos de las primeras generaciones que marcaron las pautas estilísticas con su toque, gracias a su aportación técnica y a los estilos guitarrísticos que tocaron, y que contribuyeron a la consolidación del concertismo en la guitarra flamenca y a la configuración del género musical flamenco.El Cuarteto "Al-Hamra" se formó en la primavera de 2013 en el Conservatorio Superior de Música del Liceu de Barcelona, bajo la dirección del Maestro Manuel Granados, y está integrado por cuatro destacados intérpretes, Héctor Delgado, Josele Rider, Javier Moreno y Marc Segura, alumnos todos ellos de la especialidad de guitarra flamenca. La originalidad de esta novedosa formación musical reside en su conjunto instrumental compuesto por cuatro guitarras flamencas, formación sin precedentes hasta el día de hoy en el flamenco. Esta propuesta propicia la creación de unas obras en las que se combinan las voces entre ellas, sin perder cada una su carácter concertístico, y se amplía la sonoridad del conjunto instrumental flamenco mediante un mayor desarrollo contrapuntístico que enriquecen el discurso sonoro del repertorio.
