Fab Lab Barcelonaes un laboratorio de fabricación digital líder en de la red mundial de talleres de innovación (Fab Labs). Fundado en 2007 por el Instituto de Arquitectura Avanzada de Cataluña (IAAC), Fab Lab Barcelona es un espacio que ofrece acceso a una gran variedad de herramientas de fabricación digital, como impresoras 3D, cortadoras láser, fresadoras CNC, entre otros equipos de alta tecnología.El objetivo principal del Fab Lab Barcelona es promover la innovación, la creatividad y la colaboración en el ámbito de la fabricación digital y la tecnología, así como fomentar la participación ciudadana en el proceso de creación y producción de objetos y productos. Además, ofreceMásters, Posgrados y cursos de formación en diseño y fabricación digital, una plataforma académica distribuida de educación, y colaboraciones diversas con diferentes proyectos de investigación y desarrollo tecnológico.En la actualidad, Fab Lab Barcelona desarrolla proyectos de investigación a diferentes escalas, desde dispositivos inteligentes para la recolección de datos por los individuos (Ciudadano inteligente) a los nuevos modelos productivos para las ciudades (FabCity). Los Fab Labs exploran la relación entre el mundo digital y físico, comenzó como un proyecto de extensión delCentro de Bits y Átomos del MITy se ha convertido en una red mundial de personas que trabajan en la popularización de un nuevo modo de producción que afectará a todos los niveles de nuestra vida: desde el mundo profesional de la producción de diseño, arquitectura o industrial, a la esfera doméstica, con la introducción de la fabricación personal en nuestra vida cotidiana.

How do we cultivate a resilient and responsive distributed design community? From August 23rd to October 17th RESERVIST is hosting a by-weekly online chat series, where guests share their personal experiences of responding to moments of crisis.

How do we cultivate a resilient and responsive distributed design community?From August 23rd to October 17th Fab Lab Barcelona is hosting a weekly online chat series, where guests share their personal experiences of responding to moments of crisis. The aim is to collaboratively work on a shared vision, align values, and develop best practices.Andrew Lamb will join us on September 27th from 12:00 - 13:00. Andrew is the Global Innovation Lead at international humanitarian relief organization Field Ready, Chair of the Internet of Production Alliance and Director of Massive Small Manufacturing Ltd. Andrew has previously worked on sustainability and sustainable development issues as Chief Executive of Engineers Without Borders UK and as a consultant to UNESCO, the World Bank and the global bodies for the engineering profession. His work now is all about enabling distributed local manufacturing and the benefits that this can bring. He lives in London, UK, and loves Lego.The Resilient Makers Stories will be facilitated by Jean Luc Pierite, as part of the <a href="https://fablabbcn.org/education/master/master-in-design-for-emergent-futures" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">MDEF</a> Residency Program. They are part of the European project <a href="https://cov-reservist.eu" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Reservist</a> that aims to establish a network of ‘reservist cells’, resilient networks that can be activated within 48hrs to switch to manufacturing medical products and services that are spiking in demand. Reservist has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation program under grant agreement No. 101016041.
