When Experience is No Longer Enough

As part of the initiative to grow the Network of Alumni of Top Business Schools in Russia, IE Business School is happy to invite you to an exclusive event with IE professor and CEO of Executive Education Joaquin Uribarri. As an expert in Business Education and Lifelong Learning, Professor Uríbarri has worked with global companies and managers from the five continents in the design and delivery of high-level talent development interventions. Professor Uribarri will give a talk titled "When Experience is No Longer Enough" where he will discuss how highly successful managers can continue developing their talent when they reach senior critical responsibilities.

Becoming a successful manager includes a number of important components, but two of them seem to be critical: a valuable experience to build upon and an up-to-date, relevant knowledge. However, once you reach a certain level in your career, the experience component not only is no longer enough to advance professionally, but it may also become a burden to get to the next level. You need something else to effectively face the challenges of today’s brave world.

Alumni representatives from top business schools will also share their thoughts and personal experiences of developing their careers to the next level during the panel discussion.

About the Speaker:

Joaquín Uríbarri is CEO of the Executive Education unit at IE Business School and Professor at IE.

As an expert in Executive Education, Professor Uríbarri has worked with global companies and managers from the five continents in the design and delivery of high-level talent development interventions. He regularly participates in events around the world, where he takes the opportunity to share his thoughts and learn from others’ experiences. Over the past years, his interest in

“Behavioural Leadership” and “Positive Leadership”, has given him the opportunity of sharing his thoughts and comments on the topic in numerous conferences around the world.

Professor Uríbarri combines his passion for the challenges and complexities of developing leaders with his teaching of Financial Analysis at IE Business School. He has been awarded several times as best professor of the MBA & Master in Management Programs.
