How It All Started

Lucy first met international comedian Nik Coppin in 2018, and the two quickly bonded over a shared mission: to build a proper English‑language comedy scene on the Costa del Sol. Together, they launched Stand Up Comedy Spain, bringing professional comics to the area.

At this point, Lucy had absolutely no intention of performing herself. Despite friends telling her for years that she should try stand‑up, her anxiety was far too intense for her to even consider stepping into the spotlight. She was perfectly happy working behind the scenes, helping build the scene while staying safely out of the limelight.

But at the end of 2019, after some determined (and slightly relentless) arm‑twisting from Nik, Lucy agreed to join his first Stand Up Comedy Spain comedy course on the Costa del Sol — a decision that would change everything. What began as a personal challenge quickly turned into a full‑blown love affair with stand-up. The course gave her the confidence, skills, and community that propelled her from nervous first‑timer to performer, host, and eventually promoter.

Developing the Local Comedy Scene

Since launching Amans World Comedy, Lucy has played a major role in cultivating and championing local talent. Through regular open‑mic nights, supportive mentoring, and accessible stages for newcomers, she has helped dozens of comedians take their first steps into stand‑up.

Her shows have become a creative home for emerging acts — a place where beginners can experiment, grow, and eventually share the stage with seasoned international performers.
